Agility is an increasing popular sport and a
great way to increase the bond with your dog. Learn in a fun and positive
environment: there are no "corrections" in Agility.
Many people see Agility on television - dogs
jumping hurdles, dashing through tunnels, running across balance beams, and
seemingly flying through weave poles - and then wonder if their dogs could do
the same. Most dogs LOVE Agility: it is self rewarding. Your
dog may not be as fast as that Border Collie on television, but your dog can
have as much fun!
Instructor Sally Keats has been training her own
dogs and teaching others for over ten years, for both fun and competition.
Most of our students participate because it is fun, but a few students
have been trialing locally and on the Mainland. You are welcome to come
out and watch our classes and see what it is all about.
Our Training Field is a fenced arena with wood chip footing.
Good footing is important as it cushions the dog's legs and joints, as well as
providing enough traction.
We offer several levels of classes, as well as private,
one-on-one lessons.
Beginner:
Teaches each obstacle individually, so you learn to navigate it safely.
Short courses and series of obstacles are introduced. Puppies are welcome
in this class, but jumping and other jarring exercise will be limited.
Level One:
Courses become more difficult, with more emphasis on handling techniques.
Level Two:
For those who want to compete or to start on advanced courses.
Drop-in Classes:
Once you have completed Level One, you are welcome to join our drop-in classes.
Private Lessons:
Want to work on a specific obstacle? Need help to improve your handling
skills? Group classes don't fit your schedule? Have more than one
dog you'd like to run through the course? Ask about a lesson for just you
and your dog(s).

For a modest fee you can practice on your own. You must have Agility experience

our main concern.
